Here at Tanju, we aim to bring you the best of traditional Dayak cooking, both in style and in culture. We use organic, seasonal produce, sourced daily from the market or jungle when it is at its freshest to give you a menu that is constantly evolving. We want to allow you to sample the everyday and the more unusual ingredients common to the Iban kitchen - from barbecued meat (panggang) to Sago worms (UlatMulong). We want to showcase traditional Dayak techniques, from cooking in bamboo (pansuh) to salting meats and vegetables (kasam). Some of these elements may surprise you or even revolt you but we hope, at least, that you will have a taste adventure!
Whether buffet or a la carte, we can tailor a menu to suit your needs or else you can select from one of our set menus.This is the ideal place for your family gathering or special function. For those celebrating their birthday, we offer a complimentary cake or bottle of Tuak. Tourists and overseas visitors will love it here! They can sample local or Western dishes in surroundings that are uniquely Sarawak, blending the traditional cultures of this wonderful state in an modern yet welcoming way.
